Why I want Donald Trump to win the 2020 American election

Firstly lets talk about Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama, an evil man in my opinion who is the cause of thousands of innocent civilian’s deaths around the world. Obama has blood on his hands because he dropped more bombs than all his previous Presidents put together since WW2. His drone strikes alone killed countless civilians primarily in Pakistan; drone strikes that were 10x the number of the drone strikes by Obama’s predecessor George Bush. If you didn’t hear this in the mainstream media you’re hearing it from me now (by the way, Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize).

On top of that, Obama left the economy in a mess for when Donald Trump arrived with Obama leaving America in $20 trillion of debt. The cost of Obama’s regulations on jobs came to $873 billion and resulted in America losing 300,000 manufacturing jobs. This meant that 1 in 6 American men between the ages of 18-34 were unemployed during Obama’s presidency. Obama was responsible for the lowest employment rate in 40 years and for 95 million Americans losing their jobs. If you didn’t hear this in the mainstream media you’re hearing it from me now.

I know what you are all thinking right now but no; I am not going to cite the bad aspects of Barack Obama’s presidency to justify why Donald Trump should be re-elected. So, lets talk about Trump:

Donald Trump does not drop bombs because he is not a warmonger. Trump has little interest in interfering in the activities of other countries, which to be honest is a new thing with America when looking at their imperialist history. America have always been known for carrying out neo-colonial actions, the most obvious examples being in Central and South America. But not Trump. This is what distinguishes Donald from the America the World has come to know. To give an example of why Trump is not a warmonger unlike his predecessors, in a recent meeting with Pakistani PM Imran Khan (a meeting you probably didn’t hear about in the mainstream media so you’re hearing it from me now), Trump stressed how easy it would be to win the War on Terror in Afghanistan by simply dropping countless bombs, similar to the tactics of George Bush after 9/11. However because of the risk of civilian casualties Trump says that is not an option.

Whilst maintaining on the topic of peace, look at how Trump has acted as a mediator between the phenomenal new peaceful relations between North and South Korea, peaceful relations that have now propagated the idea that North and South Korea might make a joint bid to host the Olympics in the near future. Yes there is still a long way to go between the two countries before they can come close to calling each other allies, but this is the start of a new peaceful era (the words of South Korean President Moon Jae) stemming from the start of Trump’s presidency when he first stood up to Kim Jong-uns rocket testing in the pacific ocean.

Also, lets have a look at gun control, an area where Obama along with all the other previous Presidents before him did not dare interfere with. Trump was the first to ban ‘bump stocks’ from guns; a device which allows semi-automatic rifles to mimic automatic rifles. This is what was used in the Las Vegas Massacre 2017; the most deadly shooting in American history. One thing I think that differentiates conservative opinions in America from conservative opinions in the rest of the West is the need for more gun control, and I hope that Trump regulates guns in the future furthermore.

And of course there is the American economy which Trump has completely rejuvenated. Donald has seen fairly high economic growth in every economic quarter since he became President, the first quarter this year being at 3.1% which is actually quite low by his standards. Whether economic growth be 3.1% or the 4.2% we saw last year, the trend under Trump has always been stable growth meaning that businesses have felt no risk in investing in the American economy. 400,000 manufacturing jobs have been created under Trump and 5.6 million jobs as a whole, as well as record levels of employment for American women, black Americans and Hispanic Americans. Also the American Stock Market is currently at its highest level in its history as I write this. If you didn’t hear about all this in the mainstream media you’re hearing it from me now.

Ok so I suppose I am finally going to have to talk about the recent lies and smears spread by the left and the liberal biased mainstream media following the clash between Trump and ‘The Squad’. The press have successfully influenced a narrative swallowed up by narrow-minded people I see on social media every day, many my virtue signalling friends and family… the fact that Donald Trump is racist. Let me put this in capital letters: DONALD TRUMP IS NOT RACIST.

Now lets look how the media interpreted Trump’s recent tweet: he told four congresswomen all of colour to go back home and fix the problems in their own countries before trying to tell the people of America how their country should be run.

I still wouldn’t say that’s racist but it is xenophobic and bigotry and a pretty offensive thing to say.

Now lets look at the context of his tweet of which the liberal media and my virtue signalling friends and family shouting “RACIST” “FASCIST” on Facebook have obviously failed to do:

The tweet was not aimed at FOUR congresswomen, or not at least all four equally, it was aimed primarily at Ilhan Omar.

Rescued from a Kenyan refugee camp and given asylum along with the rest of her Somali family, Omar has grown up to make a career in politics as a Democrat. She was rescued from the most backward part of the world ruined by war and genocide. Somali children like Ilhan had no chance of a prosperous life, especially females like her, so you think she’d be somewhat grateful to America.

However as a politician she has nothing but criticism and arguably hatred of the very country that rescued her. Omar describes America as inept and unjust and she describes American people as fundamentally racist and bigotry (she’s made a career out of playing the racist card yet she is the only one who talks about her own skin colour). She’s been surrounded by controversies ever since her first week in politics, mainly on the basis of her hatred for Israel and her anti-semitism in general, as well as her failure to condemn Islamist and ANTIFA terror attacks.

5caf7c822300008903ea1c99
America went berserk when Omar disregarded the 9/11 terror attacks as “some people did something”

So actually, Donald Trump was telling a woman to go back where she came from seen as she doesn’t like America to fix the far bigger problems in her native Somalia, and then to return back to America to show Trump how it is done. That don’t sound racist to me to be honest that sounds pretty sensible.

Yes the media didn’t say much regarding the underlined parts of Trump’s tweet above ^

I thought Trump made a mistake by initially sending that tweet. He didn’t need to say what he said, the Democrats are doing a pretty good job on their own right now at giving Trump the 2020 election with their imploding political party. However now I see what Trump has done and it is very clever; he has made ‘The Squad’ the face of the Democrat Party and if he can keep that up he is guaranteed 2020 electoral success. Support amongst ‘The Squad’s’ followers has risen massively but that is still only a tiny proportion of the American electorate. Ilhan Omar’s popularity alone has dropped in the polls by 9%.

The Democrats I feel are right now the most stupid political party I have ever known in my life. They used to be respectable in the times of Clinton and Obama but now they are desperately spending all their time trying to find a way to take Trump down, and not anytime on their own stability and momentum that they need for the 2020 election. That’s how they look right now.. desperate. This Mueller Report just proves how pathetic The Democrats are. After 2 years of investigating whether or not Donald Trump conspired or coordinated with Russia, an investigation involving 19 Attorneys, 40 FBI agents, 500 search warrants, 13 requests to foreign governments for evidence and interviews of over 500 witnesses (42 before a grand jury), Mueller’s investigation concludes that there is no evidence that Trump colluded with Russia. However, that wasn’t good enough for The Democrats so they threw the dummy out the pram and had Mueller in court this week; for a grilling on the grounds that his 448 page 2 year long report did not find the answer that they wanted. Absolutely pathetic.

Finally on to the main reason I want Donald Trump to be re-elected next year which is the fact that Trump is the only Western leader to address my main political concern at the minute; the silencing and de-platforming of certain individual political speakers on social media. Everyone knows how powerful the social media giants are of Silicon Valley but unfortunately those social media giants have used their power in an effort to silence genuine right-wing conservative voices in the past few years, and the denial of free speech is starting to become a big problem. I’m sure far-right racists have had their accounts restricted and blocked as well but I couldn’t give you any examples because I have never followed any, however people like Stephen Crowder, Alex Jones, Paul Joseph-Watson, Tommy Robinson and Imam Mohamed Tawhidi have all had their accounts either blocked or restricted on Twitter, YouTube and Facebook.

Like the liberal media, the high-tech giants of Silicon Valley also have a bias. When typing a negative Trump comment in the Google search engine and you will find links to articles criticising Trump from the usual suspects; CNN, NY times, the Guardian, the BBC etc. Then type a positive trump comment in the Google search engine and you will still find articles criticising Trump from the same usual suspects. Try for yourself!

Recently Trump held a social media summit at The White House to open debate into these issues, and hopefully in the near future he will be able to bring in some form of regulation for the social media companies to stop their biased de-platforming agenda.

1155196913.jpg.0
‘Diamond and Silk’ ^ were present at Trump’s social media summit because they are two of many people from the Black Conservatives movement who have been previously blocked and censored by social media

Of course the mainstream media have dismissed the summit calling it a ‘celebration of far-right conspiracy theorists’ despite people from all corners of the political spectrum being present at the event including Tim Pool; a left-wing commentator with a popular YouTube channel. The reason why the media dismissed the summit is because it is in The Establishment’s interests for pro-Trump voices to be silenced. One of the factors that helped Trump win the 2016 election was his support and advocacy from individuals with popular social media channels. I know for a fact that Silicon Valley are trying their best to not let that happen again because I have been watching their censorship crusade myself for the past 2/3years. It is not a conspiracy theory!

I think Donald Trump is a good president who deserves to be re-elected next year. I don’t think The Democrats or the liberal media have ever got over the fact that Trump beat Hillary in 2016, and this shows in the complete bias of the media and the desperate Democrats still clinging on to the hopes of finding a way to impeach Donald Trump. Maybe the Democrats will get their act together and make a decent challenge to Trump’s presidency, but in the meantime I don’t think Americans are as stupid as they are stereotypically, so hopefully they will look past the media bias and the social media censorship to make a genuine informed decision at the polls next year.

Just imagine if the media were on Donald Trump’s side, he’d be known as the greatest President in American history.

A brief rant because I am embarrassed and ashamed following Donald Trump’s state visit

Ok so this is going to be a short piece no videos no photos I am angry and frustrated I feel the need to rant so much so that I’m probably not even going to use the correct grammar and punctuation.

So following President Trump’s state visit to our previously proud and glorious nation of the United Kingdom, I feel embarrassed and sad by the actions of counter-protesters that were here to meet him.

Some of these counter-protesters, defining themselves as anti-fascists, behaved in what can only be described as a fascist like manner. Simply because there were a few pro-Trump demonstrators, and I mean very few, the anti-fascist counter-protestors behaved like animals, throwing milkshakes at pro-Trump attendants and violently attacking and pushing pensioners to the floor.

Not only was Donald Trump called a Nazi by these immature childish disrespectful wombles, but his supporters were as well.

Did any of these stupid utter nesbits not even realise why Donald Trump was here? To commemorate the 75th anniversary where our brave allied heroes defeated ACTUAL Nazis!? If wasn’t for those brave heroes 75 years ago those anti-Trump protestors wouldn’t even have the right to take to the streets in Whitehall because of, erm.. ACTUAL Nazism.

I understand that people have the right to protest Donald Trumps visit just like they were in Parliament Square protesting the visit of Saudi Arabian leader King Salman and the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping (hahaha no of course they weren’t i’m being sarcastic because the left are unbelievably hypocritical and naively swayed by the anti-Trump narrative perpetuated to them by the mainstream media) but choose the right words to insult him with when you protest his visit, especially on the D-day anniversary.

Of course its not just the stupid middle-class white vegan Independent reading idiots in Parliament Square who embarrassed our nation the past few days, but those in power Sadiq Khan and Jeremy Corbyn too.

Of course Khan falsely called Trump are far-right fascist, the only time Khan ever showing his face is when Trump comes to the former British capital city of London. He never speaks out about the substantial increase in knife crime in London. He’s happy for mass-immigrants to descent on London with their kitchen blades but no not Donald Trump the leader of the free world, the leader of a country with current record low unemployment and a booming economy.

As for Jeremy Corbyn he boycotted the visit of Trump even though he was never invited; Trump specifically saying he had no intention in meeting him yet. By Corbyn’s logic, I myself also boycotted the state visit of Donald Trump, as did my 8 month year old daughter and my pet dog Spot.

Right rant over i’m aware that i’ve typed a lot more words on this piece than I initially intended to.

To end on a serious note, I am embarrassed and ashamed because the past few days the American President has visited our shores to commemorate the defeat of fascism and he’s been met by anti-fascists behaving like fascists instead of joining him in remembering the defeat of fascists. Its been a joke and the world our laughing at us right now, once again.

If President Donald Trump Found a Cure for Cancer, the Mainstream Media would Criticise him for not Finding it Sooner

The freedom of the press should be appreciated throughout the West because it is part of Western democracy and free speech. With a free press there will always be media bias, however the bias the mainstream media have shown when reporting on Donald Trump’s presidential actions have reached a level beyond ridiculousness which can only result in sincere counter-productivity to the democracy of American people.

This week I switched on the news and saw Donald Trump shaking hands with Vladimir Putin at their summit in Helsinki and my immediate reaction was along the lines of “wow what a moment in history, two leaders of staunch rival nation-states; two countries that have hated one another ever since WW2, making friends making allies… what does this mean for the future opportunities of world peace (excited emoji face inserted here)”

Then I saw newspaper headlines from around the world…

https_cdn.cnn.comcnnnextdamassets180717124320-daily-mirror-wsj-fp-split
The Wall Street Journal over the pond reported on how the Trump-Putin summit was a “national embarrassment” to America and how Trump had “projected weakness”                                           The Daily Mirror here in Britain reported on how Trump ‘backed down’ to Putin and how Trump was in general.. Putin’s bitch.

DiRdGRhW0AA2yOb
Over in Finland the Kauppalehti mocked the gifts that were exchanged between the two Presidents

Coward, traitor, and non-patriotic are the words used to describe Trump in his meeting with Vladimir Putin (non-patriotic? seriously? It was the American patriots who voted Trump into power!). All this because Trump and Putin had a healthy and friendly summit. Its as if critics from the press want America to go to war with Russia rather than be at peace!

Trump and Putin are trying to start off fresh relations between the two countries, relations that have previously involved dangerous high tension ever since former KGB agent Vladimir Putin first came to power. Imagine this; a future bi-polar world order dominated by two nuclear ALLIES of America and Russia, opposite to the bi-polar world order experienced during the Cold War.

Maybe its true that Putin interfered in the American elections, although Putin staunchly denies it. But even if so, was Trump meant to call Putin a liar on global TV? That would have ended any chance of a future relationship between America and Russia, and that would have sufficed even harsher criticism for Trump from the mainstream media.

Trump outlined examples of how America and Russia could work together, for instance on tackling terrorism and sharing future anti-terror information, with Russia having been repeatedly attacked by Islamic extremists for the previous two decades. In 2004 Islamists held 1000 people hostage at a school in North Caucasas, Russia, resulting in more than 300 people dead 186 of which were school children. In 2010, 40 people were killed by suicide bombers on the Moscow underground system, as were on the St Petersburg underground system last year.

If only the mainstream media/Western Islamic sympathisers put more effort into reporting actual news stories like these instead of trying to undermine the democratic American vote.

When the mainstream media reported on the Trump-Putin summit with their inherent determination at smearing Donald Trump, they failed to notice the future opportunities that an American-Russian alliance could bring. Russia could have a major influence on the abandonment of North Korea’s nuclear weapon programme, with Russia being important on the basis of North Korea’s economic survival, but yet having nothing to gain from North Korea’s nuclear weapons.

Trump could also acquire Putin’s help in withdrawing American troops from Syria, as well as Putin potentially being able to convince Iran to withdraw their troops. The exchange would result in Bashar Al Assad remaining in power of Syria, which is more than fair seen as the Syrian people overwhelmingly democratically elected Assad.

iran-iraq-syria-pipeline
The only reason America initially wanted Assad overthrown was to takeover Russia’s pipeline. Fortunately Donald Trump has less interests in American imperialism. Be grateful that Hillary Clinton didn’t win the American election because if she had, she would have carried on her Husband’s legacy and took over Russia’s pipeline, inevitably causing the Russian economy to collapse. Never mind unprecedented levels of tension between America and Russia in another Cold War, Hillary Clinton as American President would mean a nuclear war

Media bias has always been a part of democratic politics with media outlets; newspapers in particular, always aligning to certain political parties or certain sides of the political spectrum. However since Donald Trump became President Media bias has reached a whole new level with constant criticism of every policy Trump carries out and constant smearing by the American press, headed of course by CNN. Fake news. It is not only in America, all British news channels and the vast majority of British newspapers are anti-Trump and now Sky TV no longer have any right-wing news channels on their package after dropping Fox News. So much for democracy.

unnamed
This news headline is obviously fake and not real, but the joke reflects CNN’s continuous efforts at smearing Donald Trump

In Britain last week thousands of people were out on the streets of London protesting at the arrival of Donald Trump in Britain ahead of a summit with Theresa May. The effort the press went into to cover the story of these anti-Trump protesters was ‘over the top’ to say the least. Live coverage of the protests all day long. Funny how the news channels couldn’t do the same when similar numbers of people from Football Lads Alliance marched in protest of Islamic Extremism, also in London. Not even 30 seconds of coverage on the news for the FLA. It was exactly the same with the Free Tommy Robinson protests THE DAY AFTER the anti-Trump protests, also in London.

As for the anti-Trump protests in London last week, where were they when Saudi Arabian leader Mohammed Bin Salman visited Great Britain this year, a man who governs a regime where women aren’t allowed to leave their house without a male companion and where woman are tortured in prison for removing their hijabs? Where were they when Turkey’s leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Britain in May, a man who imprisons journalists for writing news reports criticising his opinion? Where were they when Chinese leader Xi Jinping visited the UK recently, a man who wants to make himself ‘dictator for life’ by eliminating any future democratic elections in China?

I’ll tell you where they were- they were at home not giving a shit. The only reason these protesters were in London last week was because they’ve jumped on the anti-Trump bandwagon, a bandwagon which was made fashionable by hypocrite political commentator Owen Jones, hypocrite Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, and of course the hypocrite mainstream media.

Just look at the result of Donald Trump’s approach to the Korean conflict. Controversial at times yes of course, but look whats happening now; North Korea are set to abandon their nuclear weapons programme, and North and South Korea are going through the process of peace talks for the first time in the history of modern civilisation! Worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize for Donald Trump in my opinion. Before you start laughing, I bet if it was the exact same situation regarding the Korean peace talks 5 years ago with Obama as American President he would have won a Nobel Peace Prize. Yes I know he’s already won one I can’t remember what for though. Because he is black? It surely wasn’t because of the thousands of innocent middle-eastern civilians Obama killed with drone attacks? No? Probably because he is black.

I know that through reading this article it may seem that I am against the freedom of the press. Well I am not. I am not a communist and I am not a fascist, I believe that free press and free speech are both important aspects of a healthy democracy. Even media bias is good, people will favour certain media outlets based on their own political opinions. However I feel that since Donald Trump became President, media bias is no longer restricted to different certain media outlets, whether they be newspapers or news channels. It is instead bias seen throughout the mainstream media and the general press. This needs to change because as the way things are, the free press in which the mainstream media has always embraced is starting to look like the press seen within an authoritarian state-ruled society. Propaganda corrupting people’s political knowledge.

The Media are a Disgrace

The idea of the media is simple; an event happens in the world that we, the ordinary citizens, do not know about, and we thus rely on media outlets to inform us of that event so that we, the ordinary citizens, know what is going on. Simple.

The role that that the media plays in the global political system is somewhat extravagantly huge. And fair enough, whatever is going on in politics and current affairs is the most important and essential thing that people need to know about, more important than sport, celebrities, and people getting filmed having sex in the bushes at Royal Ascot. Therefore ideally, the media would use their power in politics to respectively report current political affairs with complete neutrality; tell us the truth about what’s going on, who’s saying what and who’s doing what, so that then we, the ordinary people, can then use the information given to form our own political opinions.

If only the media could be like that!

Instead newspapers and news channels use their political power to try their absolute best in influencing people’s political opinions to coincide with the opinions they have themselves. The Daily Mail will always criticise Jeremy Corbyn and ‘normally’ have praise for Theresa May, because they would prefer a Conservative government. The Guardian will always criticise Theresa May and ‘normally’ have praise for Jeremy Corbyn, because they would prefer a Labour government. It isn’t as bad with the televised news channels, but despite the BBC for example being supposedly independent from the government, they are hardly independent from the establishment and the political elite.

Media outlets simply ‘have it in’ for certain politicians, certain political parties and certain political activists. Lets look at a few examples starting with Donald Trump, who is perhaps at the biggest war with the media and is doing his best to highlight everything that is wrong with the media. Trump was not supposed to win the American election because it was not in the establishment’s interests. Hillary Clinton was supposed to win the election so that therefore the status quo of global politics could continue; American global dominance with imperialism and neo-colonisation, and a continuing tense rivalry with Russia. The fact that Trump won the election means that the media have done everything in their power to scrutinise every move Donald Trump makes. People on the left are jumping on this bandwagon, and Donald Trump’s numerous ‘controversies’ are now part of common knowledge.

Back home, we can see a similar pattern to that of ‘Donald Trump Vs the Media’ with Jeremy Corbyn and his battle against media scrutiny. The reason both Corbyn and Trump face a ‘bigger’ war against the media is because both of them position themselves far away from the centre on the political spectrum, albeit both on different edges of that spectrum. Therefore both do not fit in to the norm of neo-liberal political-economics that has dominated Western politics since the Reagan-Thatcher years.

The best example of ‘unfair media scrutiny’ against Jeremy Corbyn is the media’s labelling of him as a ‘terrorist sympathiser’. Corbyn is in fact quite the opposite seen as all of his political career has been about the campaign for peace. He has never supported the IRA he has just simply attempted at finding peaceful solutions through dialogue with certain IRA members. It’s the exact same with Hamas; Corbyn has just simply ‘never picked a side’. The media have twisted the story of Corbyn being a peace campaigner so that they could attempt to anger patriotic Brits. They have so far done that well. (I must state that I do not agree with Corbyn’s so called ‘terrorist sympathising’, I think there is always a side to pick, and the fact that he’s British and now wants to be the Prime Minister of Britain means there is surely only one side to pick).

Sticking with Corbyn, you could see extra scrutiny placed on him by the Media just last week when he did not bow for the Queen before her speech. I think it’s hardly a news worthy story someone not bowing for the queen. Big Deal. The right-wing press was all over that one, but when 10,000 football fans from London’s major rival football clubs march peacefully together against Islamic extremism just this weekend, it doesn’t get a second in the news! I think it was pathetic the way the media ‘pounded’ on Jeremy Corbyn for not bowing to the Queen, although again I must state that I did not agree with his ignorance and disrespect. We all know that Corbyn is a republican against the British monarch, but he does want to be the Prime Minister of her country. I’m not much of a loyalist myself. If I saw the Queen in Asda I doubt I’d bow to her, but if I wanted to govern her country I’d show some respect.

Finally when looking at political activists, the same pattern from the media can be seen as is seen in ‘the media Vs Donald Trump and Jeremy Corbyn’ battle, when activists are positioned away from the centre to the edges of the political spectrum. Russell Brand has for some time been calling for a socialist revolution against capitalism and the political establishment. The Media has never given him a chance to have his voice heard, scrutinising him at every opportunity, the Sun for example once ridiculously labelling Russell Brand a hypocrite because he has wealth and can afford to rent a London property. The same can be seen with Tommy Robinson who campaigns against Islam and the effect that the religion has on British society, and again the media never gives him a chance. Only today the Mirror showed an online Video of Robinson fighting at Royal Ascot labelling him a violent thug. After exploring the story further I found that Tommy Robinson retaliated after being physically harassed whilst trying to peacefully leave a potential confrontation and board a bus. Most people retaliate and get into fights now and again, especially when being physically harassed.

As you can see the media pretty much do what they want and they don’t do their job properly, that job being to inform people of news and current affairs without a biased opinion. A ‘free press’ sounds good, it emphasises the freedoms that we have in Western democratic societies. But I think a free press is dangerous and harmful to politics in general. I think the only way to solve this issue would be to have more regulation on the media, but Western governments are unlikely to enforce that with the fear of being seen as having similarities with Stalin like communism.

How the leadership of Donald Trump can relate to Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the Labour Party

Since Donald Trump became President we have seen him backtrack and change his mind on numerous policies, most notably some of the policies he proposed in his presidential campaign; proposals which thus won Trump the American election.

One example is his changing stance on American intervention in Syria, going from the refusal to pursue American intervention abroad to the authorisation of an air strike on a Syrian airfield last month. His stance on NATO has also changed after he criticised the multi-state organisation last year for not doing enough to fight terrorism, being dependant on America’s financial input, and for being obsolete. He now thinks NATO “is a bulwark of international peace and security”. Also, after calling China “the world champions” when it comes to devaluing currency, he has now said that China have in fact not manipulated currency while he has been running. Finally, after the main highlight of Trump’s presidential campaign being the proposed building of a wall on the Mexican border… paid for by Mexico, he now says that “payment of the wall shall be arranged at a later date”.

So how does Donald Trump changing his mind about nearly everything remind me of Jeremy Corbyn? Because once Corbyn won the Labour leadership election, his political opinions, some of them 30 years long, funnily enough seemed to change once he held some form of power after being a long-time waste of space backbencher. Funny that.

Corbyn has been known to change his mind on things such as the Scottish Referendum and Article 50, but when I saw in the news the constant ‘backtracking’ of Donald Trump’s policies, it brought to my mind Jeremy Corbyn and his changing opinions on Britain’s membership of the EU. For numerous decades before he became leader of the Labour Party, Corbyn along with his Labour colleague and best friend, Tony Benn, were strongly against Britain’s membership of the EU obviously from a left-wing perspective; being against bureaucracy and free-market neo-liberal economics. However once Corbyn became the Labour leader he remarkably changed his stance on Britain’s EU membership and became a ‘remainer’ during the referendum campaign. Maybe he had a genuine change of heart. Or maybe he is an absolute coward who ignored his own 30 year long beliefs, in order to suck up to the rest of his ‘Blairite’ joke of a Labour Party.

Of course this article isn’t just a discussion of two random politicians and how they change their minds a lot. All politicians change their minds. I wanted to focus on Trump and Corbyn because I believe that their ‘backtracking’ of numerous policies reflects their positions on opposite edges of the left and right political spectrum.

I believe Trump and Corbyn retract lots of their ideas simply because the political elite are not ready to have them both in such high positions, albeit the President of the world’s most powerful country in a much higher position than the leader of Britain’s not so powerful Labour Party.

Western politics has ran on the basis of centre-right conservative neo-liberalism ever since the partnership of Ronald Reagan and ‘the witch’ (I live in a northern former coal mining town, you know who I mean by ‘the witch’), aiming to attract centrist voters following Anthony Downe’s ‘Median Voter Theorem’ with immense success, hence the reason why Tony Bliar completely changed what the Labour Party originally stood for.

However ‘ordinary people’ and ‘ordinary voters’ are now becoming increasingly attracted to populist politics, especially in Europe, seen with the rise of Marine Le Pen and the Syriza Party in Greece for example. If the political elite wasn’t so out of touch then maybe Donald Trump and Jeremy Corbyn could get on with the politics that they stand for, and not have to modify their initial proposals in order to suit the establishment’s interests.

There is also Western media to think about. An article wrote by myself wouldn’t be complete without a criticism of the press.

Like I have said, all politicians change their minds a lot, but the media put extra focus on to the fact that Trump and Corbyn do so because them two were always going to receive extra scrutiny from the press, purely for the fact that both stand well away from the centre on the political spectrum. It was not in the establishment’s interests for Trump and Corbyn to win their respective elections. Hillary Clinton was supposed to become American president in order to carry on her husband’s legacy with the Syrian pipeline (see previous article on jackmitchellpolitics.com). Corbyn wasn’t supposed to win the Labour leadership election because it didn’t coincide with Tony Bliar’s legacy of ‘New Labour’ (more precisely known as ‘blue labour’). The media’s hammering of Trump and Corbyn runs parallel to their focus on ‘everything wrong’ with Brexit. Just you watch Britain be better off in the long run after leaving the EU! But of course by that time the media will have found something else to focus on. Probably Ebola.

In the West there is pride in the fact that we have a free press.

Free press is a myth.

The press is run in the interests of the establishment, or the illuminati, depends how far you want to go with conspiracy theories.

However not everything that goes on with Trump and Corbyn can be blamed on the media.

The political elite are simply not ready for the two. Ordinary citizens are, but who’d have thought the political elite to be out of touch with ordinary people! People are wanting a different type of politics in Europe and America; populist politics with more radical governance from the left or the right, not the same old centre-right politics repeated through leader after leader. So just you watch the more opinionated figures like Trump and Corbyn to have political success in the near future, and maybe after time the establishment and the media will catch up.
